THINGS TO SEE & DO Our members have plenty of fun things for you to see and do when you visit us. Check out the list below for ideas. Visits to all these attractions can be booked through the Bucyrus Tourism and Visitors' Bureau office. Attractions Advanced Fiber Technology - recycles wastepaper into tomorrow’s products like cellulose insulation for homes & buildings and industrial grade fiber additives for asphalt paving & structural steel fireproofing. Bucyrus Historical Society Museum - filled with items telling the history of Bucyrus. Carl’s Gas Station & 50’s Memories - is the place to enjoy the historic Sinclair gas station, vintage cars and memories from the 1950s. Carle’s Bratwurst - started in 1929 by Harry & Alta Carle as a neighborhood grocery & meat market. They are one of the two original bratwurst makers in town who helped create our annual Bratwurst Festival. C.E. White Company - manufacturing seats over 60 years ago, becoming an industry leader with their seats for commercial bus, school bus, commuter van and drivers. (New Washington) Central Monogramming - view their embroidering skills and how they create designs. A great stop for ladies of all ages! Checkmate Boats – Bucyrus’ only high performance speed boat manufacturer. Circle E Buffalo & Longhorn Steer Ranch - see where the buffalo and Texas Longhorn Steer roam in Ohio. Buffalo meat available for purchase. Tours booked with BTVB only. Cooper’s Mill - the most delicious jams & jellies you’ll ever spread on your bread. Their famous apple butter is slow-cooked over a wooden fire in 50-gallon copper kettles, then packaged for national distribution. Crawford Antique Farm Museum – take a look at how farming the fields was done in days gone by. D. Picking Company - Hand-hammered copper kettles since 1875 and the last in America. Elk Ridge Game Farm – has the finest upland game hunting around. Tours booked with BTVB only Eyestone Flower Farm –fields of show quality Gladiolas, unique Oriental Lilies, Celosias, Dutch Irises, Tulips and more. (Bloomville) First Presbyterian Church - features a historical doll collection & Noah’s Ark mural painted by a local artist. Grass Run Alpacas – small alpaca farm on the outskirts of Bucyrus. Great American Crossroads Mural- showcases 100 years of Bucyrus history. Painted by renowned artist, Eric Grohe. Harvey School – a one-room schoolhouse that operated from 1876-1918. Herald Printing, Inc. - began as a newspaper in 1881. Since, it has become a full-scale, modern printing facility that is still locally owned & operated. (New Washington) Historic Crawford County Courthouse - built on the square in 1854, you can view the court room's breathtaking stained glass dome. Liberty Remembers Mural - painted on Bucyrus’ town square, by Eric Grohe, honors local veterans of all wars. Lincoln Highway Historic Byway – running through Bucyrus, has the largest monument honoring America’s first trans-continental road. Ohio Underground Railroad Historic Marker - located at Bucyrus City Hall Pfeifer Dairy Farms – a modern day dairy farm that milks 320 cows, twice daily. The Light Mural – an inspiring piece painted by Eric Grohe to celebrate the 100th anniversary of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. The Ridgeton Restoration Company - Antiques and furniture restoration and sales. The Speakeasy- Original underground hangout during the days of Prohibition. Here is where the BTVB holds their Speakeasy Production. Toledo & Ohio Central Train Station - built in 1892, (in High Victorian Gothic style) it's the only remaining relic of the steam engine era in our town. Reconstruction of the outside has been recently finished and the gift shop is open by appointment. Entertainment Speakeasy Production - an original BTVB play, featuring members of the BTVB & the Bucyrus Little Theater. It takes place at the Speakeasy, an authentic, preserved underground hot spot in Bucyrus during the 1920s. Bucyrus Little Theatre - providing fine community shows throughout the year. Travels and Journeys – Owner, Scott Barkhurst, can help you plan a vacation of a lifetime. Family Fun Auburn Lake Park - Quiet, clean park for families. RV, pull-through, seasonal and tent sites. (New Washington) Aumiller Park – Bucyrus’ “family” park, complete with covered pavilions, a horseshoe pit, pool, skateboard area, ball diamonds and a new wooden playscape for kids. Our carillon tower also stands here and it is where some of our summer music events take place. Foxfire Family Fun Park & Campground - enjoy 33 rolling acres along the Brokensword Creek. (Nevada) Lowe-Volk Nature Center – 38-acre nature park and The Nature Center, featuring a "window on wildlife" with views into the meadow and forest. Interpretive exhibits. History displays focus on Colonel Crawford & Native American cultures. River Oaks Golf Course - 18-hole championship course, situated along the Historic Lincoln Highway. Built in 1920, it hosts the BTVB annual golf tournament. Shelby KOA Campground - Ohio's newest KOA campgrounds, where there's plenty of fun for everyone. (Shelby) Unger Farm & Park – Ohio State University experimental farm; 43 acre natural area and historic area for hiking, bird watching, and nature study.
