Best Wurst Bike Ride -- What to Expect
Entry Fees:
32- and 62-mile ride = $12.00 per person paid on/ before August 1, 2008.
After this date the entry fee will be $15.00 per rider.
The 12-mile family ride = $8.00 with any child under the age of 9 riding free
Check-In/Registration: Antique Farm Machinery Museum located at the Crawford County Fairgrounds
Help on the Ride:
Barney's Mini-Sag & Water Wagon - "put-put" motor duo for the 12-mile ride
Sag Wagons - will be patrolling the 32 and 62-mile rides
Ham Radio Operators - will be operating along the entire 62-mile route
Food Stations:
Lowe-Volk Nature Center (Leesville) - main stop for 32-mile and 62-mile riders
Downtown gazebo (New Washington) - first stop for 62-mile riders
Registration Area (fairgrounds) - "you've done it" snack

After the Ride - Crawford Antique Farm Machinery Museum - registration station
9 a.m. - 6 p.m. - Bucyrus Model R.R. Association - Crawford County Fairgrounds
8 a.m. - 2 p.m. - TO&C Train Station - 700 E. Rensselaer St., Bucyrus
(Farmer's market in the a.m.)
10 a.m. - dark - Train Buffs of Crawford County - 925 W. Mansfield St., Bucyrus
9 a.m. - until - Shunk R.R. Musuem - 211 N. Thoman St., Crestline
All day - Lowe-Volk Nature Center - St. Rt. 598, Leesville
All day - Library/Museum - downtown New Washington
Finishing the Ride:
Return to the Antique Farm Machinery Museum located at the Crawford County Fairgrounds
First 200 cyclists finishing will get a celebration patch
Showers will be available
Last chance for a great treat
What to do after the ride:
Enjoy our annual Bratwurst Festival - downtown Bucyrus (Rt 4/Sandusky Ave.)
General Weather during the ride:
Typically our average temperatures in August range between 75 and 90 degrees. We usually have slight winds or breezes, but not always.
You never know when it'll rain here, so be prepared!
Ride Terrain Information:
12-mile (family) - in town and country roads with mostly flat lands
32-mile ride - in town and country roads with nice scenery and moderate hills
62-mile ride - in town and plenty of country roads with great scenery and some rolling
hills for a good physical workout
