About Bucyrus
Today, Bucyrus has 13,000 residents and is known as the Bratwurst capital of the world and home to the last hand-hammered copper kettle company in America. In a nutshell, Bucyrus has grown from a rural settlement into a small city with a variety of modern industries, a surviving main street business community and a handful of world renowned companies.
Should that not be ample reason to blow our own horn, we believe we are one of the few remaining cities that possess the ambiance found in any Norman Rockwell painting. Take a drive down any street and you'll see the American flag flying outside homes and store fronts nearly 365 days a year. During the summer, residents gather at the square to listen to local musicians, mingle with friends and enjoy some old-fashioned popcorn. At Christmas, the main street sidewalks are lit with candles as carolers stroll the streets and residents meander through the shops, sipping on fresh hot chocolate, popcorn balls and other treats provided by the local merchants. Rich in history and tradition, Bucyrus is a great place to visit and live.
